Creating A Legacy With USA Triathlon

The first Legacy Triathlon took place on July 20 and 21, 2019 in Long Beach, CA. The inaugural event, hosted by national Olympic governing body USA Triathlon, was held on the proposed site for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Building off momentum created from the event’s May 2018 announcement, the agency promoted and emphasized how USA Triathlon is building the necessary support for the sport of triathlon ten years ahead of the Games through a dozen broadcast news segments.

In telling the human interest stories of the triathletes, the agency was able to capture creative live news stories that highlighted different age groups and as well as several news segments on different aspects of the swim, bike and run course focusing on the Legacy Triathlon’s grassroots journey to becoming a major international sport.

Live coverage was featured on CBS Los Angeles, FOX 11 Los Angeles, and KTLA as well as on KNX 1070 and in the Long Beach Press Telegram.

The event was featured on CBS Los Angeles among other LA-based media outlets.
