If you think that you cannot have it all, think again… There is Los Angeles!

You can have an enviable climate; mountains or sea; desert or city; leisure or business – and all in one of the most substantial economic engines in the nation.

We are lucky enough to live and work in the "City of Angels," nicknamed as such by its Spanish founders. We are situated in the entertainment industry capital of the world, as well as an important center of commerce, agriculture, and tourism in the third-largest city in the world.  It is also ethnically and racially diverse, boasts a lifestyle of extensive leisure and outdoor recreation, and has that special aura of celebrity associated with Hollywood.

But of course, there is more.

  • It is the second largest media market in the US, only to New York City
  • It was selected as the host of the 2028 Summer Olympic Games (in LA for a third time)
  • It has an eclectic vibe – something for everybody

Here is a glimpse of what we like to do:

Lunch is big around here, so we take a short walk (yes, walking in LA!)  to the Century City Farmer’s Market, where we find farm fresh food that makes for most amazing weekly lunches. Sometimes we walk over to the Westfield mall (which backs up right to our building) to find delectable and varied food. The abundance of choice is really, just too much.

After-hours - we often try the craft beers at the hopping Wellesbourne.  You need “wheels" to get to some of our other haunts, but they’re worth it. The special taquitos at Cielito Lindo, on historic Olvera Street in downtown, are worth the trek. Not far away from that is the Grand Central Market, a downtown landmark since 1917 and home to one of the oldest and cheapest markets in the city. Not far is the newly reopened landmark Angels Flight landmark,  a must-try. Dinner night out? The choice is endless – international cuisines abound.  We can show you around.

Entertainment – ubiquitous around here. We often go to the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by legendary architect

Frank Gehry, or L.A. LIVE, a hopping and wild place for music and shows often referred to as the West Coast version of Times Square.

Art - when we have an itch to take in art, we go to the mountain top Getty Museum or the traditional LA County Museum of Art (LACMA), home to one of the most “Instagrammable” spots in LA.  For contemporary art, it’s the new Broad Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) or individual galleries. We know how to find them.

Outdoors - wine connoisseurs among us often go to our closest vineyard, Malibu Wines, which can take up a whole afternoon.  And then there is the iconic century-old Santa Monica Pier, our own Venice Canals, endless beaches and sports, where we have it all -- the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, USC and UCLA football, and now the Rams and Chargers.
